The shamans in Amazons have many traditions and rituals for ‘Healing’ patients. They follow many practices to learn to communicate and receive ‘Blessings’, ‘Healing’ from the Holy and Divine Mother Ayahuasca.
One of practices an apprentice undergoes is ‘learning with the Plants’. This involves ‘ingesting’ the Plant once or few times, which may last for few weeks to months, and may be ingested daily during that period. The Plant being studied may be boiled with the Holy Medicine of the Holy and Divine Mother Ayahuasca, and after ingestion, the Plant’s spirit may then appear during a ‘Visionary’ experience, or in a subsequent dream.
